Research programs to support underrepresented groups in STEM:

SCORE - SCORE (Students of Color Opportunities in Research Enrichment) is an academically based hands-on research club designed for students who are underrepresented in the life sciences.

McNair Scholars Program - McNair Scholars receive comprehensive support to earn undergraduate degrees, complete research projects in their fields of study, and apply to graduate schools. The goal of the McNair Scholars Program is to increase graduate degree awards for students from underrepresented segments of society.

SPUR - The University of Oregon (UO) Summer Program for Undergraduate Research (SPUR) provides fellowship opportunities for undergraduate students to participate in research in Life Sciences laboratories at UO during the summer.  Underrepresented groups in life sciences research are considered by race, ethnicity, low-income, first-generation to attend college, and disability status. Access to research is also considered.

Groups on the UO campus to find resources:

Center for Multicultural Academic Excellence - center to promote student retention and persistence for historically underrepresented and underserved populations.

TRiO SSS - a program is designed for students whose socioeconomic backgrounds, educational records, and personal situations suggest they may experience challenges at the UO that could be alleviated with use of resources offered by SSS.

Black Cultural Center - The BCC is a welcoming and supportive space that helps Black students harness the resources necessary to navigate their social, cultural, and academic experience.
